Cloud isn’t necessary a Karen in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, but he does need to speak to the manager–of the Gold Saucer, that is. It’s a massive theme park, and there’s barely any information to help you. As such, here’s our guide on how to find Dio in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth. Likewise, please be reminded that this article contains minor spoilers.
Where to find Dio in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth (Chapter 12 objective)
To be clear, Dio, the manager of the Gold Saucer, is someone you initially meet during Chapter 8: All That Glitters. You don’t need to look for him at all, since he’s the one who approaches Cloud and the gang during that portion of the campaign. This also serves as an introduction to 3D Brawler, one of the minigames in the theme park.
Still, the objective that we’d like to focus on takes place during Chapter 12: A Golden Keystone. The goal is to find Dio in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth so you can progress the main story. There are just a couple of problems:
- If you open the local map, the entirety of the theme park is highlighted, and you definitely don’t want to waste too much time exploring the wrong areas.
- Similarly, the party splits up to search for Dio, but you’re not given a definite clue.
So, where exactly is Dio? Well, there are a few hints that you’ll see if you proceed further along the main square. An attendant and several event screens advertise an upcoming match between Dio and Don Corneo (Cloud’s old nemesis from the group’s time in Midgar). An announcer also mentions that Dio will have a match in the Battle Square.
You know what that means? It’s time to head to the Gold Saucer’s Battle Square, as that’s where you’ll find Dio in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth.
Upon arriving there, you’ll see Aerith. She and Cloud will talk to the manager, who then promises to hand over the item that they’re looking for in exchange for fighting Don Corneo’s goons in the Musclehead Colosseum. Dio also wants you fully prepared, and he suggests that you rest at the Haunted Hotel.
A warning for those interested in romance options and relationships
There’s an option to “rest until tomorrow” in the Haunted Hotel. You should avoid doing this too early. That’s because this moment in the game is when the total relationship/affinity values are tallied. The party member with whom Cloud has the highest relationship value will be the one to accompany him in some rather eventful sequences.
If you are planning to increase affinity with specific characters, be sure to complete their side quests before you rest up. You can learn more about this mechanic in our romance options and relationships guide.
