As announced during the opening showcase of Summer Game Fest, Alan Wake 2 is finally getting a physical release on PS5 and Xbox Series X later this year. The new physical versions include an $80 deluxe edition, published by Epic Games, that drops on October 22–a year after the game’s initial release–and a $200 collector’s edition from Limited Run Games slated for December. Preorders for both versions are live now at Amazon, Best Buy, and GameStop.
While they’re more expensive than the standard digital edition that released last year, both physical versions include a bunch of extra content in addition to the base game. Let’s go over everything that comes with the Alan Wake 2 Deluxe and Collector’s editions, plus where you can preorder them.
$80
The Alan Wake 2: Deluxe Edition includes a physical copy of the base game on PS5 or Xbox Series X. It comes in a standard game case, but features reversible cover sleeve artwork. You also get the Alan Wake 2 Expansion pass that includes The Lake House DLC pack and the new Night Springs story DLC, a digital copy of Alan Wake Remastered, and the Digital Deluxe Edition item pack that includes:
- Nordic Shotgun Skin for Saga
- Parliament Shotgun Skin for Alan
- Crimson Windbreaker for Saga
- Celebrity Suit for Alan
- Lantern Charm for Saga
The Alan Wake 2: Deluxe Edition will launch on October 22 for $80. PS5 and Xbox Series X preorders are available at Amazon, Best Buy, and GameStop.
$200
Limited Run Games is handling the Alan Wake 2 Collector’s Edition, which comes with the base game and all the bonus content from the Deluxe Edition, plus a batch of physical collectibles including a functional replica of Alan Wake’s Angel Lamp, an Ocean View Hotel Room 665 keychain and key, a Coffee World pin set, and an artbook. You also get a special Collector’s Edition box.
The Alan Wake 2: Collector’s Edition is planned to release sometime in December, though the specific date is not yet confirmed. Preorders will be available for a limited time between June 8 and June 21.
Along with these new physical editions, developer Remedy Games also revealed a new premium DLC story expansion, Alan Wake 2: Night Springs, which adds three new chapters to the game and includes new playable characters. There’s also a new, free photo mode for the base game. The Alan Wake 2: Night Springs expansion and photo mode launched on June 8. While the Night Springs DLC is included with the upcoming physical releases, those who already own the digital versions of the game can access it through the $20 Alan Wake II season pass.
